Amusement Park Trailer Tire Fine Appeal Dismissed for Non-Final Cantonal Decision
Legislator-Zusammenfassung
KI-generiertA complainant was fined for operating a trailer with defective tires and subsequently appealed the ruling. The appellate court informed the complainant that the appeal deadline was non-extendable and indicated that it would not consider the poorly substantiated appeal, leading to a recommendation to let the case rest. Despite this, the complainant insisted on pursuing the appeal, which resulted in the court requiring a deposit for costs. After the complainant failed to meet the payment deadline, the appellate court formally dismissed the appeal. The complainant later sought relief from the Federal Tribunal, which concluded that the case had not reached a final decision and deemed the appeal insufficient to meet required legal standards. The tribunal did not engage with the appeal and imposed court costs on the complainant.

Urteil vom 12. September 2008
Strafrechtliche Abteilung
Besetzung
Bundesrichter Schneider, Präsident,
Gerichtsschreiber Monn.
Parteien
X.________,
Beschwerdeführer,
gegen
Staatsanwaltschaft des Kantons Basel-Stadt.
Gegenstand
