The case involved a penal appeal submitted to the Federal Tribunal against a decision by the Court of Appeal of the Vaud Cantonal Tribunal. The appellant received notification of the contested ruling on April 4, 2014, and was required to appeal within a statutory timeframe of 30 days, which was extended due to holiday considerations. However, the appellant filed the appeal after the deadline on May 20, 2014, rendering it late and inadmissible. As a result, the court stated that the appeal lacked merit and denied the request for legal assistance, imposing judicial costs on the appellant.

Objet
