In this case, a party lodged a criminal appeal against a decision made by the Cantonal Court, alleging that the appeal was submitted too late. The appellant received notification of the contested ruling on March 10, 2014, and was required to file their appeal within 30 days, which they failed to do by submitting it on April 10, 2014. Consequently, the appeal was deemed inadmissible due to the expired deadline, leading to the dismissal of the case by the Federal Tribunal.
