The case involves an appeal regarding the dismissal of a prior legal challenge due to non-payment of advance costs. The appellant contested a ruling that granted a third party the release of a legal lien, but the court found that the appellant did not adequately demonstrate any violation of constitutional rights. Consequently, the appeal was deemed manifestly inadmissible. The court further ordered that the judicial costs be borne by the appellant.

Objet

mainlevée d'opposition, avance des frais,

recours constitutionnel subsidiaire contre l'arrêt du Président de la Cour des poursuites et faillites du Tribunal cantonal du canton de Vaud du 9 octobre 2007.

Considérant:

que l'arrêt attaqué déclare non avenu, faute de paiement de l'avance des frais, un recours interjeté par X.________ contre un prononcé de mainlevée d'opposition dans la poursuite n° xxx exercée par Y._________;

que contrairement aux exigences de l' art. 106 al. 2 LTF (par renvoi de l' art. 117 LTF ), inspirées de l' art. 90 al. 1 let. b OJ ( ATF 133 III 393 consid. 6), le recourant n'indique nullement en quoi l'arrêt attaqué violerait ses droits constitutionnels;

que le recours étant ainsi manifestement irrecevable, il convient, en procédure simplifiée selon l' art. 108 al. 1 let. a LTF , de ne pas entrer en matière;

qu'en vertu de l' art. 66 al. 1 LTF , les frais judiciaires doivent être mis à la charge du recourant;

par ces motifs, le Président prononce:

1. Le recours est irrecevable.

2. Les frais judiciaires, arrêtés à 700 fr., sont mis à la charge du recourant.

3. Le présent arrêt est communiqué aux parties et au Président de la Cour des poursuites et faillites du Tribunal cantonal du canton de Vaud.
