The case involved a legal dispute between two parties concerning a divorce, which was initially ruled by the Obergericht des Kantons Zürich (Higher Court of the Canton of Zurich) on May 24, 2019. One of the parties, represented by an attorney, lodged an appeal against the ruling on June 27, 2019. However, prior to the Swiss Federal Tribunal reviewing the merits of the appeal, the appellant formally withdrew their complaint on August 12, 2019. Consequently, the appeal was dismissed by the Federal Tribunal as a result of the withdrawal, and the appellant was ordered to pay court costs amounting to 500 CHF.
