The Swiss Federal Supreme Court (I. Civil Division) dismissed the appellants' appeal for lack of sufficient reasoning and did not enter into the merits; consequently, the cantonal decision of the Obergericht of Bern (2nd Civil Chamber, June 30, 2025) remains in force, which had upheld the lower court's grant of legal opening (Rechtsöffnung) for debt enforcement against the appellants. The disputed matter was a challenge to a legal opening decision under the Debt Collection and Bankruptcy Act, where the appellants contested the Obergericht's rejection of their prior complaint. The Court based its dismissal on the appellants' failure to meet the strict substantive reasoning requirements of Art. 42 para. 2 and Art. 106 para. 2 BGG, which necessitate a detailed, specific critique of the legal reasoning of the challenged decision; the filing merely alleged errors without properly arguing legal violations. As a consequence of this non-entry, the Court ordered the appellants to pay the court costs of CHF 800.-- jointly and severally, and awarded no party compensation because the respondent had incurred no expenses.

vertreten durch Fürsprecher D.________,

Beschwerdegegner.

Gegenstand

Rechtsöffnung,

Beschwerde gegen den Entscheid des Obergerichts des Kantons Bern, 2. Zivilkammer, vom 30. Juni 2025

(ZK 25 223).

Erwägungen:

1.

Zivilkammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
