The case revolves around a dispute regarding registration fees related to an apartment purchase in Geneva in 2004. The taxpayers initially filed a claim with the cantonal tax administration, which was rejected in June 2006. Subsequently, their appeal in July 2006 was deemed inadmissible due to lateness by the cantonal tax commission in June 2008. Following this, the taxpayers filed another appeal in July 2008 against the commission's decision, but this was also rejected on the grounds of being late by the administrative court in September 2008. The taxpayer then brought the matter to the Federal Tribunal, seeking to overturn the previous rulings related to the timeliness of their appeals.

Arrêt du 6 janvier 2009

IIe Cour de droit public

Composition

M. le Juge Merkli, Juge présidant.

Greffière: Mme Charif Feller.

Parties

X.________, recourant,

contre

Objet

Droits d'enregistrement; recours tardif,
